Consecration ceremonies to the Virgin Mary in the CLM (Lay Marianist Community) of Togo took place in Kara, Sotouboua and Lomé, respectively on November 08, November 21 and December 06, 2020 in strict compliance with health measures related to the corona virus pandemic. Each ceremony mobilized some members of the other branches of the Marianist family, namely the Marianist Brothers (SM), the Daughters of Mary Immaculate (FMI) and the Alliance Mariale (AM).
They are a total of 25 candidates to make their commitment in the CLM of Togo to follow the Lord according to the Marianist spirituality. It was during a mass that the candidates made their commitment. To seal this act, the elected representatives received each one, with a smile and joy, a badge specific to the CLM from the hands of the person in charge, Odette BEBEWOU. It is a grace and a feast for all the greater Marianist family of Togo.
Let us recall that the Marianist communities were officially born on February 2, 1801 under the initiative of BL. William Joseph Chaminade. As communities of faith, their mission is to proclaim the Gospel and to transmit the faith by multiplying Christians and communities of faith under the guidance of Mary. This year, the CLM gives thanks to God for their 40 years of presence in Togo, a sign of their response to Mary’s call: “Do whatever he tells you. “(Jn 2:5).
